Local Area

Southaven is a young city with a rich tradition already in place. Incorporated in 1980, Southaven is one of the fastest growing cities in the Southeast United States. Due in part to its location on the periphery of the bustling Memphis metropolitan area, in just 20 years Southaven’s population has tripled.

Southaven’s location is beneficial for business. Proximity to Memphis has helped Southaven fluorish. With Snowden Grove Park as its centerpiece, Southaven has grown into a destination point – not just a Memphis suburb. Snowden Grove Park has played host to the Little League World Series and contributes millions annually to the city’s coffers. The $32 million De Soto County Civic Center opened in 2000 and plays host to sporting events, concerts and local civic events.

Guest our hotel will also enjoy easy access to Memphis. While Southaven is a destination unto its own, one cannot ignore the influence of its neighbor to the immediate north – the musical mecca of Memphis Tennessee. Home to Graceland and legendary Beale Street, Memphis is famous for barbeque and the blues. and a trip to the South would not be complete without a day spent taking in an evening of music while sampling the local cuisine. It’s a wonderful place to soak in barbecue sauce and local color!
